Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I would first like to say, “Tough times never last. But tough people do.” Pipeliners are some of the toughest and most resilient folks, but we are definitely being tested. We already had many enemies to battle, such as cheap nonunion contractors, biased judges, and extreme environmental protesters.
As you read this report, 2018 is in our rearview mirror, and 2019 is starting to unfold. I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed holiday season and is excited to start another prosperous year of pipelining. Our great Local was very blessed this past year, and the outlook for 2019 is gearing up to be nothing less. The strength and perseverance of our leadership have guided this Local to places that once seemed impossible but now has become a reality.
I would like to personally congratulate my fellow Business Agent and Brother member, Chad Gilbert, on his recent UA appointment to serve as Special Representative assigned to the Department of Pipeline and Gas Distribution. I know he will do a fantastic job and continue to fight hard to further the interests of this great profession.
Work in the South will be plentiful for 2019 with many jobs going out for bid. Although we have not been fortunate enough to acquire very many of these in the past, I feel that this is our year to make it happen and I will work diligently every day to help ensure that outcome.
I would like to remind everyone to make plans to attend our Regular Membership Meeting on January 11, 2019. We are all empowered by the knowledge gained when staying involved with what is going on in our Local and our regular meetings are a big part of that process.
Lastly, if you are having trouble contacting me, please call my cell number, 918-991-5341. As always, I look forward to hearing from you. May God bless you and your families with a healthy and prosperous year. And remember, “There is Strength in Numbers and Greater Strength in ORGANIZED Numbers.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters, I hope this report finds our Local 798 family safe and healthy. By now, the COVID-19 pandemic has reached almost every county and parish in the United States. I don’t know that anyone could have forecasted that this virus would sweep through our country with such intensity.
There is no way to describe the times in which we are living. We are walking through a situation that no one has dealt with before us. However, we do have work starting. Gas companies and contractors are proceeding with extreme caution.
