Please join us in support at this vital public hearing regarding the certificate of need and route permit applications filed by Enbridge Energy, Limited Partnership for its proposed Line 3 Replacement Project.
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission will hold several public hearings from late September through October. The purpose of the each hearing is to compile a full record for the Commission to consider in making a final decision on the Line 3 Project certificate of need and route permit applications.
Citizens will have the opportunity to question witnesses and offer oral and written comments into the record at the hearing. The hearings will end upon the final speaker. Please arrive early to be heard. If the final speaker is heard prior to the scheduled end time, the hearing will adjourn. The ALJ may elect to recess the hearing and set additional days for hearing, if necessary.

The Line 3 Replacement Project is a new 337-mile long, 36-inch diameter pipeline that would replace 282 miles of the existing 34-inch Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota. The pipeline route proposed by Enbridge would parallel the route of the existing Line 3 pipeline from the North Dakota-Minnesota border to Clearbrook, Minnesota, but would require a new right-of-way from Clearbrook to Superior, Wisconsin. The existing Line 3 pipeline is proposed to be permanently deactivated and left in-place after the new pipeline is installed, tested, and operational.
