Join us on Monday, June 18 at 9:30 am to tell the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) you support a timely approval of the Line 3 Replacement Project, a critical pipeline that will create more than 1,500 jobs in MN - many belonging to Local 798 members. Further delay in the permitting process will jeopardize good-paying jobs and benefits for many workers, and tax revenue and local economic stimulus to Minnesota and its communities.
The MN State Senate and House have passed a bill allowing Enbridge to construct the pipeline, but it still needs approval from Mayor Mark Dayton and the Minnesota PUC before commencing construction. Come out and voice your support in front of the Commission!
The Commission hearing rooms have wheelchair access. If other accommodations are needed (such as sign language or large print materials), please call 651-296-0406 or 1-800-657-3782 at least one week in advance of the meeting. You may also contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
**If you are unable to attend this meeting, you can support the project by signing the Line 3 petition in the Local 798 Action Network AND the petition created by the citizens activist group Minnesotans for Line 3 .**
The Line 3 Replacement Project is a new 337-mile long, 36-inch diameter pipeline that would replace 282 miles of the existing 34-inch Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota. The pipeline route proposed by Enbridge would parallel the route of the existing Line 3 pipeline from the North Dakota-Minnesota border to Clearbrook, Minnesota, but would require a new right-of-way from Clearbrook to Superior, Wisconsin. The existing Line 3 pipeline is proposed to be permanently deactivated and left in-place after the new pipeline is installed, tested, and operational.Share
