Michigan needs the Great Lakes Tunnel and I support Enbridge’s permit application to build it. The Great Lakes Tunnel is critical because:
The Great Lakes Tunnel reduces the risk of a spill in the Straits of Mackinac to “virtually zero” according to a State of Michigan study.
The Tunnel will avoid impacts to any species within the Straits as it will be located deep below the lakebed.
The energy from Line 5 is essential to our economy and its recovery, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Tunnel will support our economy both during and long after construction.
The project will protect the Great Lakes, while creating jobs for hardworking Michiganders and preserve and protect our energy future.
Michigan residents depend on the energy from Line 5 every day!
The Tunnel will make an already safe pipeline safer, and keep energy affordable when it matters most.
