About the project

The Line 3 Replacement Project is the largest project in Enbridge history and one of the most comprehensive infrastructure proposals in North America. The 36-inch diameter pipeline will run from Hardisty, Alberta to Superior, Wisconsin, replacing the existing 34-inch diameter pipeline along most of the current Line 3 route. This $7.5 billion private investment will reduce future maintenance activities, minimize disruptions to the environment and restore the historical operating capabilities of Line 3.

In June 2020, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) voted to move the project forward by deny petitions for reconsideration filed in May on the project's environmental impact statement (EIS), certificate of need (CN) and route permit (RP) dockets. Entering this new stage of the permitting process, Enbridge needs construction-related permits from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before it can begin building the new pipeline.

As an employee for Enbridge on line 3, I believe we did quite well with a low repair rate. For Everyone who made an effort to keep their head in quality work, Thank You, and keep it up, thats what we want and need.. And we look forward to continue completing Pipelines for Enbridge, Thank You Enbridge, Respectfully…
