The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has opened a comment period related to critical state water quality permits for Williams' Northeast Supply Enhancement Project. Help secure 3,000+ jobs for Northeast construction workers - many of whom are Local 798 members! ADD YOUR NAME NOW to the comment we will submit to the NJDEP before the public comment period ends.

Dear Commissioner McCabe:
I firmly stand in support of Williams’ Northeast Supply Enhancement Project in its request for critical state permits from the New Jersey DEP.
This is an important expansion of the natural gas infrastructure network in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey that is expected to support more than 3,000 jobs, creating tremendous opportunity for Local 798 members and other Union laborers who depend on infrastructure projects like this to provide for their families. Once in service, Northeast Supply Enhancement will deliver affordable, domestically sourced natural gas to millions of American homes and businesses that currently depend on more costly and less reliable forms of energy.
FERC's Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) found the project would have “less than significant” environmental impacts if Williams follows mitigation measures proposed by the company and FERC. Since the project was introduced several years ago, Williams has demonstrated its commitment to follow these measures by working with stakeholders and environmental professionals to identify potential issues or concerns and then modifying the project design to further minimize potential impacts.
I support the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project for the following main reasons:
- Increases access to domestically sourced, affordable natural gas;
- Generates approximately $239.9 million in economic activity in New Jersey alone;
- Creates 3,000 jobs for local laborers, many of whom are Local 798 members;
- Has the potential to displace nearly 16 million tons of CO2 annually (equivalent of removing 3 million vehicles).
I stand with New Jersey residents, construction workers and all who will benefit from increased natural gas access by support Northeast Supply Enhancement, and I urge the NJDEP to issue necessary permits for this critical project without delay.
Sincerely,
Northeast Supply Enhancement Supporter
