Dear Ms. Gaidasz:

I support Williams’ Northeast Supply Enhancement Project, a critical expansion of the natural gas infrastructure network in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Construction is expected to support more than 3,000 jobs across the three states, many of which will go to Local 798 members right here in New York. The project will also generate approximately 23 million dollars in economic activity across the state. Once complete, Northeast Supply Enhancement will deliver affordable, reliable natural gas access to millions of American homes and businesses that currently depend on more expensive and less efficient forms of energy.

The final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) concluded the project would have “less than significant” environmental impacts if Williams follows mitigation measures proposed by the company and FERC. Williams has demonstrated its commitment to follow these measures by working with community members and industry experts to identify potential environmental issues or concerns and then modifying the project design to further minimize potential impacts

In summation, I support the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project due to the following benefits:

  • Increases service to National Grid and its customers;
  • Provides reliable supply of economical natural gas;
  • Continues to help NYC meet its clean air goals;
  • Creates family-supporting jobs for local laborers;
  • Drives millions of dollars in new wages;
  • Has the potential to displace nearly 16 million tons of CO2 annually (equivalent of removing 3 million vehicles).

I urge the NYSDEC to issue necessary permits for this critical project without delay.

Sincerely,

Northeast Supply Enhancement Supporter
